The New Testament Church of God was founded in 1964 by the late, Reverend McIntyre. There were approximately ten founder members who met at 19 Cranbury Avenue,Newtown, Southampton. The meeting place then moved to Lyon Street where a small hall was rented to hold services. The first minister was Reverend GB Henry who has now emigrated to Jamaica. The church continued to grow and it became necessary to change the venue. The church then started to meet in another rented hall in Osbourne Road, Portswood,Southampton. Finally, following assiduous efforts from the members of the church, who became involved in house to house collections, street trading, building rallies and other activities the building in Ivy Road was purchased in1971.It is here that the Church remains today.
